Sage Brousseau is a photographer and educator in the greater Boston area. She received her BFA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a M.Ed. from Lesley University, and has participated in over 20 group shows in Boston and New England.
Through my work, I am constantly exploring concepts of relationships and identity, including the relationships with my past and current self, others, and the world around me. Typically, I strive to makes images that recreate or otherwise re-assemble moments and pieces of the past to make sense of the present, through a rather direct and controlled approach. However, in my exploration of instant Polaroid photography, I am allowing myself to make a departure from tightly controlled images to the unpredictable process and results of leaving the photographs submerged in water for indiscriminate periods of time.
